PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, invites applications for full-time employment from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions in the University:

TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES IN THE UNDER-LISTED FACULTIES

A FACULTY OF BASIC CLINICAL SCIENCES AND FACULTY OF CLINICAL SCIENCES

Suitably qualified Professors, Reader/ Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers and Lecturer 1 in the following specialist areas for full-time employment only,

• Anatomic Pathology
• Chemical Pathology
• Community Medicine
• Haematology and Blood Transfusion
• Internal Medicine
• Medical Microbiology/Parasitology
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Paediatrics and Child Health
• Surgery

QUALIFICATIONS

Professor:

Candidate should be a Professor in a University with at least ten (10) years of teaching experience or a Reader with three (3) years cognate experience on the post-qualifying for professorial assessment and possess MBBS plus at least one of the following qualifications: FWACP, ENMCOG, FNMCP, FNMCS, F'WACS or equivalent qualifications registerable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with at [east ten (10) years University teaching and research experience in the relevant discipline, A PhD degree in the area of speciality will be an added advantage. Candidate should also have a good record of scholarly publications of at least thirty-five (35) publications in reputable journals or H-Index: 5 and F-index: 3. Candidate should have adequate administrative experience.

Associate Professors/Readers:

Candidate should be a Senior Lecturer for at least three (3) years and possess MBBS plus at least one of the following qualifications: FWACP, FNMOOG, FNMCP, FNMCS, FWACS or equivalent qualifications registerable with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with at least 8 years of experience in University teaching and research in relevant disciplines. A PhD degree in the area of speciality will be an added advantage. Candidate should also have a good record of scholarly publications of at least thirty (30) publications in reputable journals or H-Index: 3 and J-index: 2. or a Senior Lecturer with three (3) years cognate experience in the post. Administrative experience will be an added advantage.

Senior Lecturers:

Candidate should possess MBBS plus at least one of the following qualifications: FWACP, FNMCOG, FNMCBE, FNMCS, FWACS or equivalent qualifications registerable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with at least six (6) years in University teaching and research in the relevant areas. A PhD degree in the area of speciality will be an added advantage. Also, the Candidate should have been a Lecturer | for at least three (3) years, with a good record of scholarly publications of at least twenty-five (25) publications in reputable journals or H-Index: 1 and 1-Index: 1.

Lecturer I:

The candidate should possess MBBS plus at least one of the following qualifications: FWACP, FRMCOG, and FNMCP. FNMCS, FWACS or equivalent qualifications registerable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with at least five (5) years of teaching and research experience in the relevant areas in a University. A PhD degree in the area of speciality will be an added advantage. Candidate should have been s Lecturer IT for at least three (3) years and possess a good record of scholarly publications of at least ten (10) publications in reputable journals or Hl-index: 1 and 1-index: 0,

N/B: Qualifications in Medical Education would be an added advantage in all the positions.

FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES

Suitably qualified Professors, Reader/Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers and Lecturer 1 in the following specialist areas:

• Medical Laboratory Science
• Nursing Science
• Physiotherapy
• Radiography and Radiation Sciences

QUALIFICATIONS

Professors:

• Candidate for this post should possess a Doctorate in areas of speciality.
• Candidate should be a Professor in a University with at least ten (10) years of teaching experience and proof of research evidence of thirty-five (35) publications in reputable journals of H-Index: Sand 1- index: 3, or Reader with three (3) years cognate experience on the post-qualifying for Professorial assessment.

Associate Professors/Readers:

• Candidate for this post should possess a Doctorate degree in areas of speciality.
• Candidate should be a Reader in a University with proof of research evidence of thirty (30) publications in reputable journals of H-Index: 3 and I-index: 2, or Senior Lectures with three (3) years cognate experience on the post.

Senior Lecturers:

• Candidate for this post should possess a Doctorate degree in areas of speciality.
• Candidate should have spent a minimum of three (3) years as a Lecturer | in a recognized University with proof of research evidence of twenty-five (25) publications in reputable journals of H-index: 2 and 1-index: 1

Lecturer 1:

• Candidate for this post should possess a Doctorate degree in areas of speciality.
• Candidate should have spent a minimum of three (3) years as Lecturer 1 in 8 Universities with proof of research evidence of ten (10) publications in reputable journals or H-index:1| and 1-index: 0.

N/B; All Candidates must possess a current licence from their various regulatory bodies. (MLSCN), (NMCN), (RRBN) (MRCN).

FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES

Suitably qualified Professors, Reader’ Associate Professors, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in the following specialist areas:

• Anatomy
• Biochemistry
• Pharmacology
• Physiology

QUALIFICATIONS

Professors;

• Candidate for this post should possess a doctorate degree in areas of speciality.
• Candidate should be a Professor in a University with at least ten (10) years of teaching experience and proof of research evidence of thirty-five (35) publications in reputable journals or H-Index: 5 and 1-index: 3. of a Reader with Throe (3) years cognate experience on the post-qualifying for Professional assessment.

Associate Professors/Readers:

• Candidate for this post should possess 1 Doctorate degree in areas of speciality.
• Candidate must be readers in a University with proof of research evidence of thirty (30) publications in reputable journals or H-Index: 3 and L-index: 2, of a Senior Lecturer with three (3) years cognate experience on the post.

Senior Lecturers:

• Candidate for this post should possess a Doctorate degree in areas of speciality,
• Candidate must have spent a minimum of three (3} years as Lecturer 1 in a recognized University with proof of research evidence of twenty- five (25) publications in reputable journals or H-Index: 2 and [-index: 1.

Lecturer:

• Candidate for this post should possess a Doctorate degree in areas of speciality.
• Candidate must have spent a minimum of three (3) years as Lecturer Il in a recognized University with proof of research evidence of ten (10) publications in reputable journals of H-Index: 1 and I-index: 0.

N/R: An MBBS degree would be an added advantage in all the positions.

NON-TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES

Science Laboratory Technologists (Biology Laboratory) (CONPUSS 07)  

Candidate should possess a good Bachelor's degree from a University in a relevant discipline not lower than Second Class or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant discipline not below lower credit, 3 years cognate experience plus a certificate of registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria and NYSC discharge certificate or Exemption letter

Science Laboratory Technologists (Chemistry Laboratory) (CONPUSS 07)    

Candidate should possess a good Bachelor's degree from a University in a relevant discipline not lower than Second Class or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant discipline not below lower credit 3 years cognate experience plus evidence of registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria and NYSC discharge certificate or Exemption letter.

Medical Laboratory Assistant (CONPUSS 05)

Candidate should possess a National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or a National Certificate Examination for Laboratory Assistant.

Science Laboratory Assistant (CONPUSS 05).  

Candidate should possess a National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or a National Certificate Examination for Laboratory Assistant.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Salaries and allowances are at enhanced levels. Other conditions of service are contained in the Human Resource Policy Document of the University.
