Admission into University of PortHarcourt Teaching Hospital Post Basic Paediatric and Accident/Emergency Nursing

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nurses for admission into a-12 calendar month post-Basic Diploma Programme in Paediatric & Accident & Emergency Nursing commencing from October, 2014.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Cadidates for admission into the programme must possess the following:
a. SSCE or its equivalent with 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings. These must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology (not Health Science) and two other credits
b. Registered Nurse/ Midwife with a minimum of one year post qualification experience.
c. Credit in Physics and Chemistry, .Sc Nursing or B.NSC with a PGDE or its equivalent is an added advantage.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Candidates should pay a non-refundable fee of N5, 000.00 (Five thousand naira) only to STERLING BANK (UPTH Branch) A/C No. 513662259110 and present the teller to the cashier at the office of the Assistant Director, (Finance) for the issuance of such payment, obtain an application Form the Office of the Assistant Director of Administration, Clinical Services & Training.
CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS FORMS 
Completed application forms with photocopies of all relevant documents are reach the co-ordinators of the schools at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital on or before Thursday 24th July, 2014
SELECTION INTERVIEW FOR THE ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY NURSING PROGRAMME
a. ENTRANCE EXAMINATION will hold in the SPBN 
AUDITORUM on Wednesday 29th July, 2014 at 10.00am prompt
b. ORAL INTERVIEW holds same day in the ACADEMIC BLOCK OF THE SCHOOL.
SELECTION INTERVIEW FOR THE PAEDIATRICS NURSING PROGRAMME
a. ENTRANCE EXAMINATION will hold in the SPBN AUDITORUM on Wednesday 30th July, 2014 at 10.00am prompt.
b. ORAL INTERVIEW holds same day in the ACADEMIC BLOCK OF THE SCHOOL
NOTE
a. Candidates are to bring along orginal copies of their certificates and valid practicing licenses
b. Candidates should bring along writing materials for the examination. Mobile phones are not allowed into the examination hall.
c. Selection of candidates will be based on academic qualifications and candidates will be based on academic qualifications and performances at the entrance examination and oral interview. 
d. candidates are to make necessary arrangement for their accommodation and feeding throughout the duration of the interview.
