Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife:

1. School of Perioperative Nursing
2. School of Midwifery
3. School of Post Basic General Nursing

School of Perioperative Nursing

1. OBJECTIVES:
   The post basic programme is designed to equip Registered Nurses with professional and special knowledge and skills required for efficient and effective Perioperative Nursing Services.
2. DURATION:
   The duration of the course is Twelve (12) calendar months commencing November, 2014.
3. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
   1. Applicants must:
      1. Possess the West African School Certificate/GCE/NECO with at least 5 credits (at not more than two sittings) which include English Language and at least one Science subject i.e Physics, Chemistry or Biology NOT Health Science for candidates who finished General Nursing before 2006.
      2. possess West African School Certificate/GCE/NECO with 5 Credits (at not more than two sittings) including English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Not Health Science) for candidates who finished the General Nursing after 2006. Note that a combination of WAEC and NECO results is ACCEPTABLE.
      3. Be Nurse Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
      4. Have at least one year post-qualification experience in a clinical area.
      5. Show evidence of release/sponsorship for the period of training.
4. TEST AND SELECTION INTERVIEW
   Written tests and oral interview will be conducted at OAUTHC School of Perioperative Nursing, Ile-Ife. 
   Written Test: Tuesday 17^th June, 2014 
   Oral Interview: 18^th – 19^th June, 2014.
5. METHOD OF APPLICATION
   Application forms are obtainable from the office of the Deputy Director (Nursing Education) or Principal, School of Perioperative Nursing, OAUTHC, Ile-Ife at a cost of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) only payable by cash and not by Bank Draft to the schools’ Account No 6000024232 Mainstreet Bank, (OAUTHC), IHU, Ile-Ife.
6. CLOSING 
   Completed application forms, duly endorsed by sponsors, together with photocopies of relevant credentials, should be forwarded to the office of the Deputy Director (Nursing education), OAUTHC, P.M.B. 5538, Ile-Ife not later than 10^th June, 2014.

 

School of Midwifery

1. DURATION:
   The duration of the course is Eighteen (18) months commencing September, 2014.
2. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
   1. Applicants must:
      1. Possess WAEC/GCE/NECO with 5 Credit (at not more than two sittings) including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
      2. Applicant must note that combination of NECO and WAEC results is ACCEPTABLE.
      3. Be a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Applicant awaiting the result of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Examination may also apply but must present registration number fromN&MCN at the interview.
3. TEST AND SELECTION INTERVIEW
   1. Written tests and Oral interview will be conducted at OAUTHC School of Nursing, Ile-Ife as follows:
   2. Written Test: Tuesday 15^th July, 2014
   3. Oral Interview: Wednesday & Thursday 16^th & 17^th July, 2014.
4. METHOD OF APPLICATION

SCHOOL OF POST BASIC GENERAL NURSING

1. DURATION:
   The duration of the course is Eighteen (18) Calendar months commencing March, 2015.
2. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
   1. Applicants must:
      1. Possess WAEC/GCE? NECO with 5 Credits including English Language, Mathematics, and three sciences i..e Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than 2 sitting.
      2. Be a Registered Midwife or Psychiatric Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
      3. Note that combination of NECO and WAEC results is acceptable.
      4. Have at least one year post registration working experience after the mandatory communit6y service (Midwives only).
3. TEST AND SELECTION INTERVIEW
   1. Written test: Thursday 15^th July, 2014
   2. Oral Interview: 16^th & 17^th July, 2014
   3. Venue: School of Nursing, OAUTHC, Ile-Ife.
4. METHOD OF APPLICATION
