This is to inform the general public that online sale of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria postgraduate application forms for the 2015/2016 Academic session shall commence on 17th August 2015

 

All interested applicants should visit the Ahmadu Bello university Website www.abu.edu.ng or the forms portal portal.abu.edu.ng/pgform.

 

You can as well get information about available courses, requirement, detaisl of purchase, filling and submission of the online forms on the forms portal. Please note the following information.

 

1. The cost of each application form is Ten thousand naira only and bank charges of five hundred naira only.

 

2. The duration of the sale of application forms and submission is from 17th august 2015 to 17th November 2015

 

3. Ph.D applicants must upload a proposal and also make a hard copy available to be sent by post to the head of department of the program they are applying into.

 

4. The phone numbers and email addressess of the applicant should reflect in the online application form.

 

5. Please ensure that you have the basic entry requirements of five olevel credits including english and or mathematics in not more than two sittings

Available programs

DEPARTMENT OF NURSING SCIENCE

A. M.Sc. Nursing Sciences

a) MSc.- candidate must possess university and faculty O' level certificate requirement at credit level in at least five subjects of English Language, General Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physic in West African Examination Council Ordinary Level Certificate or its equivalent in not more than two sittings.

b) The candidates must possess RN or RN/RM Certificates in addition to Bachelor degree B. Sc Nursing/B.N.Sc. from Ahmadu Bello University or any other recognized University and must obtain a minimum of second-class lower division. A postgraduate diploma in Nursing or other related disciplines may be an added advantage.

c) Candidate who has third-class degree from any institution mention in (b) above and possess a post graduate diploma in an area he wish to further his MSc. Nursing or spent three years after graduation are legible to be considered for the programme.

 

B. PhD Nursing Sciences

a) PhD Candidates must possess a good Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.Sc Nursing/ B.N.Sc) degree and a good M. Sc. degree in Nursing or Masters degree in related disciplines from Ahmadu Bello University or any other recognized university.

b) Candidates with masters degrees in related disciplines shall be admitted into the M Phil/PhD Nursing Science programme during which the candidate must register and pass all the M.Sc. Nursing courses as required. To continue with the PhD on completion of the course work, such candidate must obtain a

minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5 point scale.

c) Candidates that obtain a CGPA of less than 3.50 shall be made to terminate at the M Phil level.

d) Candidates who have successfully converted from M.Phil./ Ph.D. in Nursing programme.
