The American Heart Association (AHA) Airway Management Course is a unique program designed to give healthcare professionals the opportunity to learn, practice and demonstrate their ability in applying many airway skills used in resuscitation. Students increase their awareness of various airway products and skills required.
The course provides training for Healthcare providers whose occupation requires airway management skills or Professionals in the field of resuscitation and airway management.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
After participating in this training, participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate correct bag-mask ventilation
2. Demonstrate proper insertion of a laryngeal mask airway.
3. Demonstrate proper insertion of an esophageal-tracheal tube.
4. Demonstrate proper insertion of an endotracheal tube.
5. Demonstrate proper use of an impedance threshold device (ITD) with bag-mask ventilations and advanced airways.

COURSE CONTENT:

COURSE FORMAT:
In the classroom, an Airway Management Facilitator conducts video-guided instruction and skill demonstrations, and works with students to complete hands-on skills practice and skills testing.
Classroom-based (instructor and video, with skills conducted throughout)
Instruction of all modules requires 5 hours.
Course length can vary depending on needs and the units taught.
REQUIREMENTS
Learners should receive the prescribed AHA 40-page Airway Management Student Guide prior to the course in order to prepare and benefit maximally from the course.
Notes:
All successful delegates will be awarded a Certificate from the American Heart Association and a Nursingworld Certificate of Participation on the day of training.
