The Association for Good Clinical Practice in Nigeria announces her Forthcoming Trainings on:
 
1) The introduction to Medical Research October 19th - 21st 2015 and 
2) A course on clinical Trial october 21st - 23rd 2015
VENUE: Charity House, Opposite law faculty (coscharis) university of Nigeria enugu campus
 
The courses attract 10 CME Units from the Nigerian Medical Association
 
THE COURSE CONTENTS
Introduction to Medical Research:
Definition and purpose of research, Classification of Research, Differentiating qualitative and quantitative research, Definition of Epidemiology and Epidemiological Research, Clinical Research, Translational Research, Clinical Epidemiology, Definition of research terminology, Distinguishing between clinical trials and clinical research; How to choose a research question, principles of validity, principles of associations, Assessing the Quality of evidence
 
Clinical Trial:
Overview of study designs; Defining clinical trial and its importance; Components of a clinical trial, Types of a clinical trial, Phases of a Study; Sample size considerations, Discussions on placebo and control group, Randomisation and blinding in clinical trials, Multi-centre and single centre trials; concepts of Bias, Confounding and Interaction, measuring outcomes and adverse effects; follow-up, compliance and post-randomization problems; ethical issues
 
WORKSHOP INSTRUCTORS
Prof. Ifeoma Okoye, Chairperson AGCPN and a professor of Radiology in the Radiation medicine department at the college of medicine, university of Nigeria, Enugu Campus
 
Dr Chidi Nweneka, Main Faculty Association for good clinical practice in Nigeria (AGCPN), a paediatrician, epidemiologist and clinical scientist
