Dear All,

 

Compliments of the season. On behalf of the President and Council I wish to inform Fellows, Nurses/Midwives and the general public that the 14th Biennial General Meeting (BGM ) of the West African College of Nursing previously scheduled to hold from 18-25th March has been moved to July 1st - 8th. 

 

This was as a result of the information received from the Central Planning Committee for the BGM that the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport,Abuja will be closed for 6weeks to enable the Nigeria Government effect repairs on the runway. 

 

The change  was therefore necessitated by the 6 weeks closure which takes effect from the 8th of March. From that date  all Abuja bound flights will land at Kaduna and passengers will be transported by road to Abuja. 

 

The Central Planning Committee and the WACN Council critically assessed the situation and after putting into consideration the possible security challenges and all other  unforseen circumstances that may be associated with  land travel from Kaduna to Abuja,resolved to move the BGM to July.

 

Hopefully by the new date of July1st - 8th the refurbishment of the Abuja Airport would have been concluded.

 

Our sincere apologies to the keynote speaker, our guests of honour,the honorary awardees, all our resource persons, fellows, nurses/midwives and the general public for the inconvenience the change of date may cause you. We look forward to seeing all of you in Abuja come July 1st, 2017. It promises to be an unforgettable experience.
