Vesta Healthcare is seeking a suitable candidate for the position below to be based its offices in Victoria Island, Lagos.
JOB TITLE
CLINICAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATE
JOB PURPOSE
• Initiate, investigate, refine and produce required background research, concept papers, client proposals as well as implementation plans and project work schedules
• Define, collect, collate, analyse and present verifiable evidence as well as data sets required for the project
• Develop, validate and apply practical, innovative clinically-appropriate solutions to projects and technical advisory to clients
• Instigate and apply a strategic analysis framework and sequential process approach to structuring client projects and address requirements
• Produce MS Word documents, MS Excel Spreadsheets, MS PowerPoint Presentations and other project documents, reports and deliverables, ensuring timelines are strictly adhered to
• Maintain and foster good relationships with the Project Team and all relevant Stakeholders
• Supervise and coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops and training sessions
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish, develop and manage the overall planning, control and co-ordination of specific Vesta projects from inception to completion and in some instances, contribute to post project usage
• Ensure allocated projects are driven and achieved within a defined budget and programme, to meet Vesta-specified standards of quality and performance
• Assume responsibility for defining and delivering on project objectives and parameters as well as project implementation and evaluation processes
• Control all aspects of the project and optimise the use of available resources to meet all specified deliverables. Responsible for strategic and detailed forward planning of the project and develop the project cost, program control and risk systems
• Work closely with the Engagement Partner in actively maintaining in client satisfaction and liaison
• Support Engagement Partner in establishing, developing and managing the planning, control and co-ordination of specific Vesta projects from inception to completion; ensuring projects are driven and achieved within a defined budget and programme
• Undertake and manage administrative aspects of Vesta project work including setting deadlines and collation and compiling information required for reports, preparation and production of reports, conducting library and internet based research
• Plan and organise all Project functions including booking of venues, renting of equipment, liaison with Vesta employees (internally), clients, suppliers, consultants and other invitees (externally) as appropriate
• Organise meetings and teleconferences for the Project Team; attending and preparing meeting minutes, agendas and relevant paperwork and ensuring all paperwork is distributed in a timely fashion; ensure appropriate accommodation is organised for meetings
• Responsible for all aspects of the Project Team’s local and overseas travel and accommodation arrangements; processing all claims for travel expenses incurred by the Project Team and maintain and monitor financial records relating to this expenditure
• Provide a confidential Project word-processing service, including production of letters and reports; composition of own correspondence as and when required; responsible for photocopying, scanning and faxing; responsible for efficient filing of all Project documents
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
• Originate and develop business prospects and potential projects from both private sector and public sector clients
• Execute a professional Business Development operation including RFP monitoring/evaluation; proposal/tender preparation/submission; contract negotiation/set-up; client liaison and management; which meet Vesta quarterly/annual projections and satisfies client expectations
• Source and secure consulting, investment, healthcare delivery and clinical training business opportunities
• Establish a credible and profitable Business Prospects Pipeline linked to the remuneration bonus package
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Essential
• Medical Degree (MB BS MB ChB or MD) or First degree in Life Sciences (minimum First Class) from a top-ranking University
• Demonstrable and impressive record of academic achievement
• Strong analytical, numerical and writing skills with at least 3 years’ experience as a clinician or an executive with an international organisation
• Superior understanding of English with confident language fluency that confers strong (public) presentation and communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills; a good team player. Must have pleasant telephone and good e-mail etiquette
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), Microsoft Visio, Adobe Creative Suite and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)
• Confident and assertive individual willing to work independently, travel and work long hours in an international environment
Desirable
• Postgraduate qualification(s) or an MBA from a recognised Business School
• Modern language skills with fluency in English and other European Language
• Previous Consulting Experience with a multinational Professional Services Firm
• Previous relevant multinational experience in healthcare or life sciences sector
COMPENSATION
• This position is based in the Victoria Island, Lagos and will be offered on a permanent basis. A negotiable compensation package has been established to attract the best talent for this position including a competitive Salary and a Quarterly Performance Bonus.
