Consultant Paediatrician (OH001)
Reporting to the Chief Medical Director, the successful candidate will have responsibility for managing outpatient and inpatient care, medical research and mentoring members of the medical team. A key component of this role will be to promote patient quality and safety, drive learning and innovation and institute systems for monitoring and improving client satisfaction.
Key Requirements
. Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians, Paediatrics Section or Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, Paediatrics Section.
. Registration as a Specialist of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
. Experience in managing common paediatric problems and sick newborn infants
. Experience of working in a modern Neonatal unit, equipped with relevant electronic monitoring and respiratory support facilities, will be an advantage.
. Experience in teaching/ mentoring doctors and medical/ nursing students
. Good interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Senior Registrar, Paediatrics (OH002)
Reporting to the Consultant, the successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides specialist medical services to patients. He/she will also provide leadership, training and supervision, for doctors in training, health service medical practitioners and other health and promote quality and client satisfaction in collaboration with the Consultant.
Key Requirements
. Part 1 of the West African College of Physicians (Paediatrics) or the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (Paediatrics).
. Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
. Experience in managing common paediatric problems and sick newborn infants
. Experience of working in a modern Neonatal unit, equipped with relevant electronic monitoring and respiratory support facilities, will be an advantage.
. Experience in teaching/ mentoring doctors and medical/ nursing students
. Good interpersonal and professional communication skills
Experienced Medical Officers (OH003)
Reporting to the Senior Registrar, the successful candidates will be responsible for providing 24-hour medical cover and immediate first line resuscitation to hospital patients, visitors and staff. They will also assist in the routine management of patients and provide back-up support to the Senior Registrar and Consultant. Key responsibilities will be to:
. Provide routine and emergency medical services during hours of duty.
. Work in conjunction with the other Medical Officers to deliver 24-hour service to the Hospital.
. Conduct routine ward rounds and ensure that patients are adequately attended to.
. Maintain proper patient documentation using appropriate tools and methods
. Maintain and develop the highest evidence based clinical and professional standards.
. Conduct research and make presentations during clinical audits and other quality improvement and capacity building sessions
. Keep abreast of new developments, skills, technology, and current literature in order to initiate and respond to changes in the work environment.
Key Requirements
. A good MBBS degree from a recognized university.
. Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in a hospital providing paediatric services including in-patient and emergency.
. Registration with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
. Experience working in a Paediatrics and Neonatal unit will be an advantage.
. Proven ability to manage pressure and respond promptly to Hospital emergencies.
. Excellent verbal, written interpersonal and communication skills.
Medical Officers (OH004)
Reporting to the Senior Registrar, the successful candidates will be responsible for providing 24-hour medical cover and immediate first line resuscitation to hospital patients, visitors and staff. They will also assist in the management of patients and provide back-up support to the Senior Registrar and Consultant. Key responsibilities will be to:

Senior Staff Nurse, Paediatrics (OH005)
Reporting to the Head of Nursing Services, the successful candidate will have primary responsibility for ward management, as well as providing and maintaining the highest possible standard of nursing care. An intrinsic part of this will be to assess, develop and implement a patient care plan, evaluate care given and ensure proper documentation.
Key responsibilities will be to:
. Monitor and report patients' condition to the medical staff, ensure prescribed treatments are administered and that all members of health care team are kept informed of the changing needs of patients.
. Assist and supervise other members of the nursing team, ensuring that all staff work to achieve an acceptable safe standard and quality of care.
. Implement and oversee good housekeeping practices, as well as ensure ward expenditure is within budgetary limits.
. Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of relevant patient/ care policies and procedures, with particular reference to safe handling of patients.
. Act as an associate mentor to students allocated to the ward.
Key Requirements
. Candidates must have dual qualifications: NRN and NRM.
. Possession of B.Sc. or Health related management studies will be an advantage
. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
. 5 years post registration experience
. First Level Registration qualification within Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit or Accident and Emergency.
. Demonstrable experience in care of neonates, children and critical care in Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit or Accident and Emergency.
. Proven ability to respond to Hospital emergencies and work under pressure.
. Excellent verbal, written interpersonal and communication skills.
Staff Nurse, Paediatrics (OH006)
Reporting to the Head of Nursing Services, the successful candidate will have primary responsibility for ward management, as well as providing and maintaining the highest possible standard of nursing care.
