HEFAMAA is set up by Heath Sector Refore Law of 2006 to ensure improvement in the quality and efficiency of health care delivery in Lagos State. HEFAMAA is not an enemy of health facility operators rather, it performs its regulatory functions to ensure that the minimum set standards by Law are maintained thereby securing the safety of lives of its citizenry.

To this end, the Agency is organizing its fifth Stakeholders' meeting with all healthcare providers, registered or non-registered; orthodox or non-orthodox; private or government owned.
