ICM EDUCATION AWARD 2017

When educated to international standards, midwives are able to provide up to 87% of the essential care needed for mothers and their newborns (State of the Worlds’ Midwifery Report 2014). In her work to help produce a highly qualified workforce, the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) has been continuously supporting midwifery education, both basic (pre- service) and/or post graduate (in-service) midwifery education to ensure that mothers and newborns have access to quality midwifery care.

In collaboration with Johnson & Johnson, whose credo values are to help create a world where people, no matter their circumstances, have access to quality health care, the ICM Education Award was established.
