#JOHESUStrike2018 Sacasm: Still On The JOHESU/NMA Impasse

Posted on: Mon 28-05-2018

It's now very clear that both Lagos and Kwara state Governments lack the knowledge of "International Best Practices (IBP)."

Sometimes ago, we heard the shocking news that Donald Trump appointed a Nurse as Surgeon-general of the United States, someone who is a support staff, a paramedic and who is also not "medically qualified".

We have written to the President to reverse that appointment citing the IBP which we are sure he's not aware of and we have also instructed our colleagues in the US to embark on an indefinite strike if he fails to remove her after two weeks.

Coming to our country Nigeria where other countries are learning the IBP from, we were flabbergasted that Lagos state government in her ignoramus and audacity approved consultant cadre for another group of support staff without consulting us for advice on IBP. Is it that the Governor does not know how things are done in "developed" countries?

A Pharmacist as a consultant in the hospital?

How?

We "OWN" the patient! And they will now be rubbing shoulders with the real consultants who are even "medically qualified".

Well, as expected, our Lagos branch had done a well-worded letter to Gov. Ambode to withdraw that circular. We have also detailed one of our junior consultants to go and school Ambode on International Best Practices (IBP).
As if the atrocities committed by the US president and Lagos state Gov were not enough, Kwara state government, a few days ago approved the appointment of a Nurse as Commissioner for Health.

How can a "mere" Nurse be the head of the medical team where we have people who are "medically qualified"?

That cannot happen!

We are using this medium to direct our members in Kwara State to embark on an indefinite strike until this absurdity is corrected. We also want to use this opportunity to mobilise our members across the country to get ready for battle because this JUHESU people are daring us, they want to be consultants, they want to be commissioners and very soon they may also want to be Minister of health, CMD, CMAC and HODs even when they are not medically qualified.

Having paramedics and support staff as head of health institutions is alien to International Best Practices and we cannot allow that!

...I JUST WANT TO MAKE A SARCASTIC SENSE...
