Positions:
 
. Consultant Paediatrician,
. Consultant Neonatologist 
 
Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
Coordination and development  of the hospital's paediatric department
Responsible for the duties of paediatricians and paediatric nurses
Ensuring that patient care and management is optimal and is in adherence to the clinical guidelines.
Supervisory and managerial cover for paediatricians and  planning duty schedules
Provide leadership guidance in the department and establish good working relationship with other departments    
Participate in the recruitment, orientation and training of paediatricians and paediatric nurses.
Work with department team members towards meeting and exceeding department's set targets
Act as mediator between the department and management
 
Key Performance Indicators/ Performance Goals:
Maintenance of a high standard of medical practice in the paediatric department
Facilitation of continuing medical education of medical and nursing staff
Increased  footfalls in the department
Promoting and marketing the services of the department and the hospital
 
Desired Skills and Experience
 
Consultant Paediatrician 
* Applicants must possess a Fellowship or its equivalent in Paediatrics and have a minimum of 5 years’ post board/fellowship experience.
* Neonatal intensive care skills/certification will also be an added advantage
* Full registration and affiliation with relevant bodies with current licenses.
* Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team is highly essential.
The successful candidate will also be the Head of Department
 
Consultant Neonatologist
* Applicants must be Qualified Specialist in neonatal emergency medicine and neonatal-perinatal medicine for a minimum of 5 years.
* Consultants mush have some experience in neonatal emergency administrative issues. Completion of Specialized training and experience in neonatal transport.
* Specialist must have worked in neonatal transport either extramural or intramural transfer during NICU experience. PHD or Fellowship.
* Neonatal intensive care skills/certification will also be an added advantage
* Full registration and affiliation with relevant bodies with current licenses.
* Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team is highly essential.
