MEDIC
Key tasks and Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the Unit's Hospital, Medical and First Aid facilities
- Examine injured/ sick personnel, provide first aid and basic medical care
- Communicate with the shore based medical facilities to obtain medical assistance or advice
- Assist to arrange evacuation of sick/ injured person (Medevac)
- Maintain records of injuries and diseases. Maintain drug issue records
- Ensure sufficient stock of medicine, control expiry dates of medicines and order replenishment as necessary
- Ensure controlled drugs are stored in accordance with the procedure
- Ensure correct disposal of out of date drugs
- Check that all core crew members arriving onboard have a valid medical certificates
- Perform periodic audits of provision, potable water, galley and accommodation hygiene and housekeeping
- Perform provision inspection upon receiving it from the shore
- Liaise with OIM and Camp Boss to review food and nutrition quality, to ensure that healthy eating options are available
- Monitor the Journal for Health Hazard Substances
- Promote healthy lifestyle. Develop exercise programs and offer advice for onboard personnel
- Ensure that fitness equipment is being maintained and replaced as required
- Carry out relevant tests and inspection routines as per Computerised Maintenance Management System
- Prepare and update Muster lists, T-Cards and Safety Cards on cabin doors
- Perform offshore Helicopter administration, i.e. booking, passenger lists, manifests etc.
- Perform cabin allocations
- Maintain and update POB lists and transmit it to all parties concerned
- Assist in administrative tasks and activities
- Control medical waste collection, segregation and processing
- Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents. Prepare Company reporting system reports for injuries
- Use the Permit to Work system. Follow the Permit to Work procedures
- Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Produce reports, update records, generate work orders
- Prepare required reports and maintain appropriate documentation
- Undertake training relevant to the position requirements
- Perform On-the-job training of first aid team. Organize first aid drills and hygiene training
- Member of Emergency Response Team
Qualification requirements
Education
- Degree in Medicine (MD / MBBS)
Experience
- Employer requires 2 years experience as a Medic or General practitioner. Experience on offshore facilities or marine vessels an advantage
Skills
- Good inter-personal and communications skills
- Good computer skills
