The Ogun State Chapter of the Medical And Health Workers Union Of Nigeria in a letter to the Head of Service, Office of the Head of Service dated 8th May 2018 gave notice of joining in the impending indefinite strike action scheduled for the 9th of May 2018.
The letter reads:
Dear Sir,
NOTICE OF INDEFINITE HEALTH WORKERS STRIKE
The National Secretariat of our noble Union has directed all Health Workers at both the State and Local Government to immediately ernbark on an indefinite strike action effective midnight of Wednesday 9th May, 2018, Letter attached
The State Council is of the view that this development will afford your office the Oportunity to RESTORE THE PAYMENT OF TEACHING ALLOWANCE TO CORE HEALTH WORKERS erroneously withdrawn by the Accountant General Office since 2015.
Failure which may affect our resumption of duty even when the strike at the National level is called Off.
The union also request for the immediate adjustment/upward review of the Ogun State Enhanced Health Salary Structure (OGEHESS) as done to Ogun State Medical Salary Structure (OGEMESS) since last year
