Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria Presents a Seven Day 10 Credits CPD Workshop for Lecturers and Academic Staff of Universities and Colleges/Schools of Health Technology Involved in the Training of Medical laboratory Science Practitioners.
Titled: Capacity Building for Effective Lecturing Skill for Quality Academic/Professional Training
Aim:
It is the aim of this workshop to build the capacity of Lecturers and academic staff involved in the training of Medical Laboratory Practitioners through continuing professional development programmes for international best practices and production of quality professionals in the area of Medical Laboratory Science for quality healthcare delivery.
Justification:
Reports have shown that the standard of Education is falling and quality of graduates turned out from most institutions is not satisfactory. Most Professionals and other graduates presently are performing below expectation, and many are not self-reliant. A well-grounded Medical Laboratory Scientist should have what it takes to be self- reliant and not be found among the unemployed graduates. The role of Lecturers in the transfer of standard knowledge and skill through effective lecturing skill is key to solving this problem. Many Institutions have improved their training facilities and manpower following accreditation processes but adequate training facilities require effective capacity building for Lecturers through strategic and result oriented training to produce desired quality professionals/graduates.
