The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria presents a four day 5 credits CPD Training of Trainers Workshop for Organizers and Facilitators of CPD programmes of council Titled TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION OF ORGANIZERS AND FACILITATORS OF COUNCIL ACCREDITED CPD WORKSHOPS

 

AIM: It is the aim of this workshop to train participants and accord them formal recognition and certification as Council’s accredited Organizers and Facilitators of its CPD programmes. Any uncertified Organizer or Facilitator will after this workshop not have Council approval to organize CPD activity in partnership with Council. 

This Workshop is mandatory for all Organizers and Facilitators of Council approved CPD Workshops/Seminars and is a prerequisite for consideration of all CPD applications from Organizers.

 

JUSTIFICATION: Reports have shown that most CPD workshops/Seminars organized in the past were substandard and did not follow Council Guidelines. Since participation in CPD programme has become an important aspect of knowledge update for recertification and renewal of annual practicing license, it is imperative that the organizers and facilitators of the CPD activities are trained and retrained on how to develop and organize standard CPD Programme topics that will improve the standard of knowledge of participants in line with Council policy and guidelines.

 

CONTENTS

1. Key note address on Council CPD policy and guidelines for Organizers, facilitators and participants.

2. Overview of past CPD programmes accredited by Council between 2011 and 2015.

3. How to develop a standard CPD topics that will actually update knowledge of participants

4. How to plan and organize a successful CPD workshop.

5. How to prepare good slides for power point presentations

6. Training Basics: Effective Presentation Skills

7. How to Facilitate an Interactive Lecture Branches

8. Proper way of Filling Council CPD application forms.

9. Monitoring and Evaluation of CPD Workshop for award of credits.

10. Data Collation and application of CPD credits for licensure.

 

There will be Pre and Posttests, Group discussion and interactive Session with Council Management.

 

TARGET AUDIENCE: Mandatory for All CPD organizers, intended organizers, facilitators, Council staff, Lecturers and other Med Lab Scientists including AMLSN (National, Branches and chapters ), NGOs and IPs, Facilities (including PEPFAR supported), Schools, Hospitals, private and public institutions who may wish to organize or facilitate a Workshop for Council CPD credit award.

 

WORKSHOP FEE: Twenty thousand naira (N20, 000.00) covering workshop materials, tea break, lunch and certificate of participation.

DATE: 23rd - 26th May, 2016 (including arrival and departure)

VENUE: Vines Hotel, Abuja

TIME: 9.00 AM – 5.00 PM daily

 

METHOD OF APPLICATION/REGISTRATION: Intending participants shall apply to the Registrar/CEO of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria through

[email protected] stating full name, Qualification, Registration number with Council, official address, e-mail address, GSM number and Evidence of payment of Workshop fee.

 

Payment shall be made to MLSCN through Remita platform in any Commercial bank and Registration closes on the 20th May, 2016.

SPECIAL APPEAL: All institutions, NGOs, IPs, Facilities, AMLSN National, Chapters and Branches who have being organizing CPD workshops/Seminars approved by Council are requested to sponsor at least two (2) participants to this workshop.
