Position: Project Director, Abuja, Nigeria
 
Overview:
Project Director will report to the deputy Country Director. She provides vision leadership and direction to ensure the strategic programmatic, technical and financial integrity of a USAID-and Johnson & johnson funded monile Health Project in Nigeria that aims to improve the health outcomess and quality of life for pregnant women, newborns and childrens and their families in Nigeria through a nationallly scaled locally led and unversally accessible demand generation services supported byu age and stage based mobile messaging that validates and complements the efforts of frontline health workers.
 
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure programmatic and financial integrity of community-based HIV care and treatment project and to achieve rapid and sustained project goals, objectives and targets
Ensure compliance with the program agreement results and the oversight of program activities to achieve the stated objectives
Develop and maintain strong working relationships and alliances with USAID, the Federal Ministry of Health as well as selected State Ministries of Health and UN agencies other USG implementing partners, private sector partners and other key stakeholders in Nige to maximize resources and avoid duplication of effort
Represent Jhpiego’s interests and present progress, achievements and lessons learned to key stakeholders including USAID and implementing partners in public and professional circles through meetings, conferences, and presentations
Provide technical leadership in the design, analysis, and synthesis of interventions
Ensure the quality and sustainability of interventions particularly in the community-based HIV care and treatment and capacity building
Participate in relevant technical advisory groups with counterparts and partner institutions
Lead the annual work planning process in close collaboration with USAID, Federal Ministry of Health, project team and project partners
Oversee preparation of periodic project reports to dono
Mentor, support, supervise and manage a team of highly qualified staff and align their efforts to ensure rapid and sustainable results
Provide guidance, in collaboration with key staff, to subcontractors and subgrantees and coordinate activities with other agencie
Manage multiple project partner
Write and/or review technical components of materials and publications related to integrated health and its developmen
Ensure resources for project implementation are availabl
Work with finance and project staff to develop and track project budget
Work with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) staff to develop M&E frameworks and effectively track data/results
Work closely with Jhpiego headquarter office staff to ensure effective, timely and coordinated project implementation

Required Qualifications:
• Advanced degree (Masters -minimum)in public health, health administration, international health, Health inforamtion, Health communications,  or a related field or clinical degree(Physiciand, Advanced Practice Nurse, Midwife) with Public Health Programme experience.
• Previous experience serving as Project Director or Deputy
• 15 years' experience managing large, multi-year international health sector development projects that have implemented successful activities in areas such as HIV prevention, care and treatment or maternal, newborn and child health, family planning/reproductive health, malaria, health systems strengthening,  ehealth/mhealthpreferably in Southern Africa
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in establishing systems and overseeing project start-up
• Experience hiring and supervising personnel and ensuring they acquire the necessary training and skills to meet evolving program needs
• Excellent diplomacy skills and a proven ability to establish and sustain interpersonal and professional relationships with USAID missions, host-country counterparts and representatives from other key stakeholders such as NGOs, PVOs, the private sector and other donors.
• In-depth knowledge of USAID projects, regulations, compliance and reporting
• Demonstrated outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, organizational, team-building and representational skills.
• Management, training or clinical background in HIV prevention, care and treatment, TB, and health systems strengthening
• Expertise in research to practice—identifying best practices and adapting them to project realities
• Previous experience working in Nigeria, with intimate understanding of local health system and health systems strengthening, HIV care and treatment gaps and opportunities, and solid relationships at government agencies
• Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 30%

Position: Senior Programme Manager, Abuja-Nigeria 
 
Overview: 
The Senior Programme Manager will be reporting to the Project Director. Working closely with the Project Director, the Senior Programme Manager will provide strategic, technical and you are able.o• programmatic oversight for the design, development, and Implementation of the project. S/he will also ensure strong collaboration between Jhpiego and other partners. local governments, donors and sponsors, represent Jhplego With external donors/sponsors and contribute to business and resource development efforts. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
• Work collaboratively with other program staff to ensure necessary program pianninq, development and management activines function smoothly and efficiently 
• Assist with development of work plans. reporting and monitoring and evaluation 
• Work coflaboratlvely headquarters staff and in-country partners to ensure that resources for effective and timely program implementation are available 
• Participate in and coordinate monitoring and evaluation of activities for the project as needed 
• Work oollaborallveiy with finance staff to prepare and track the progress of project and activity budgets 
• Oversee technical assistance needed to execute project work plans, which may melude external consultants 
• Ensure timely. accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities and results to the donor

• Promote and support knowledge management and sharing efforts 
• Provide leadership and mentoring to the Program Assistant Serve as a focal point for the project, coordinating and liaising between partners and Jhpiego 
 
 
Required Qualifications 
 
* Advanced degree in public health, health communications, public administration, or related fieid. 
* Fluencv in verbal, written and interpersonal communication in English. Fluency in any local language in Ebonyi or Kogi State Government will be an advantage. 
* 7+ years experience managing internalional health programs. 
* Strong programming, management and technical skills, specifically with maternal, newborn, and child healih, or in eHealti1!mHealth, in developing countries. 
* Knowledge of international and USG donor agencies and private sector foundations. 
* Demonstrated skills in the technical side of program implementation. 
* Experience in the development of strategic and tactical plans in cooperation with others who represent a wide range of interests and needs. 
* Ability to interact with established networks of senior level  international health professionals, donors, universities and other partners. 
* Field oriented and comfortable with a team approach to programming and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously. 
* Demonstrated collaborative' relationship with field-based international donor aaencies.

Position: Program Assistant, Abuja - Nigeria 
 
Overview: 
The Program Assistant will report to the Senior Programme Manaoer and provide day-to-cay support for project and office operations to ensure smooth running of all programmatic functions of a USAID­ and Johnson & Johnson-funded project that aims to improve the health outcomes and quality of life for pregnant women, newborns, and children and their families in Nigeria through a nationally scaled, 
locally led, and universally accessible demand generation service supported by age and stage- based mobile messaging that validates and complements the efforts offronnine healthworkers. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
• Work with F&A assistant to arrange logistics for project activities 
• Provide administrative support to operation of project activities 
• Draft correspondence to partners, NGOs and other agencies as requested 
• Maintain files and support the dtssemtriation of project infonmation among the project team 
• Schedule and support visitors and meetings 
• Assist with drafting, editing and proofreading of technical materials and appropriate reports of program activities and results fortechnicai leads, supervisors as requestec 
• Work collaborativeiy with other project team members to ensure necessary project planning, resource availability and management activities function smoothly and efficiently 
 
Required Qualifications 
 
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, public health or related field, orequivalent job experience. 
• Experience in coordinating USG funded projects. 
• Familiarity with international donor policies and administrative procedures. 
• 2-3 years' of experience in programmatic support of international health projects. 
• Proven track record of working with a project team composed ottechnica' experts, program.and finance staff. 
• Fluency in verbal, written and interpersonal communication in EngliSh. Fluency In any locallanguage in Ebonyi or Kogi State will be an advantage. 
• Proficiency in writing and editing letters, reports, and documents. . 
• Strong decision making and results oriented approach.
