Reports have reached the Scheme of the activities of some unscrupulous scammers who are parading themselves in different sections of the country as functionaries or representatives of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). 

 

While some offer to assist enrolees obtain NHIS registration cards, others, promise to procure NHIS contracts for unsuspecting members of the public, all with the intention to extort money from innocent citizens. 

 

It has therefore become inevitable to issue this public alert, and reiterate that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has NOT mandated anyone to act on its behalf in those circumstances. 

 

Members of the public are hereby advised to report any such cases to the Scheme' and to make all other enquiries directly from NHIS on the following Call Centre lines:
