The Nigerian Heart Foundation is conveying a National Summit on Heart-health Nutrition with focus on 'Lipids and Cardiovascular Health in the Nigerian Population'.
The Summit is being organised in recognition of the rising prevalence of cardiovascular disease in Nigerian population with the key role of healthy diets in preventive strategies.
Furthermore, the Summit is in furtherance to the 2013, World Health Assembly which endorsed the Non Communicable Diseases Action Plan 2013-2020 and recommended promotion of healthy diets by Member States, International Partners and Non -Governmental Organizations.
Participants will include Researchers from Universities, Research institutions, NGOs and Policy makers from Federal ministry of Agriculture and State Ministries, National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), International Organizations and Agencies, Consumers, Manufacturers of Vegetable oils and other relevant Stakeholders.
