EXORBITANT FEES CHARGED BY SOME NURSING AND MIDWIFERY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS USING COUNCIL'S NAME

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has observed with dismay that the Management of some Institutions/ Schools escalate fees far above the Council's prescribed fees for services and charge Students exorbitantly under the pretext of "Council's fees".

In view of the above, the Board of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria at its 42nd General meeting held on 30th - 31st October 2017 directed that any Institution/ School indulging in this ugly act should desist from it forthwith.

Please, note that the Council will not hesitate to take disciplinary measures against any Institution/ School that violates these directives.

PS:
You would recall that a Registered Nurse Ernest Okafor on 12th of January 2018 had taken to our social media page to call out the School Of Nursing St. Mary's Hospital Amaigbo concerning their Registration For Basic Nursing Council Exams which saw the schools authorities asking their November 2017 Nursing Council candidates to pay #155,000 naira for Basic RN registration, whereas Council charges less than #40,000 for the same.
