Following the launch of the Online MCPD on the of September, I am pleased to announce to you that the number of Pharmacists from all over the world who have accessed the platforrn to update their MCPD status has been overwhelming.

We appreciate your warm acceptance of this innovation and we promise to roll out more initiatives In the days to come.

Our next major target is the launch of the online registration portal both for individuals and premises. This wouid allow Pharmacists from all over the world, especially those who are renewing their licences, complete the registration process in a few rninutes and immediately print out a provisional license pending the time the official copy will be released by the Council. This applies to those whose existing data with PCN need no changes.

I am pleased to announce to you that we have forrnaiiy received approvol for the Pharm. D Programme in Nigerian Universities. The approvai is with effect from the 2016/2017 Academic session.

The PCN is already working out strategies that would ensure seamless implementation by approved Faculties of Pharmacy in Nigerian Universities. we are determined to provide the regulatory framework that would prornote best quality standards in the training of Doctor of Pharmacy Degree holders in Nigerian Universities.

As we enter the last quarter of this year, the registry promises to provide adequate regulatory leadership with a view to helping colleagues achieve professional excellence in their chosen endeavours. No matter the projections of economic theorists, I remain convinced that these are the best tirnes for Pharmacists.
