10TH ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF THE SOCIETY FOR GASTROENTEROLOGY AND HEPATOLOGY IN NIGERIA(SOGHIN), HOLDING AT  EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY AND AFE BABALOLA UNIVERSITY, ADO EKITI, NIGERIA, FROM 24TH TO 28TH JULY 2017.

 

The Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Nigeria (SOGHIN) is an umbrella body for Medical Specialists in the different aspects of the Alimentary tract and related systems of the body. These include specialists in diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the upper and lower alimentary tract, the liver, Gallbladder and its ducts as well as the Pancreas amongst others. Members include Pathologists, Radiologists, Physicians and Surgeons with diverse interests and expertise in diseases of these organs.

 

Traditionally SOGHIN holds an annual scientific conference and General meeting that brings these specialists from all over Nigeria and outside the country. The year 2017 conference will take place in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State from 24th-28thJuly at the Alfa Belgore Hall, Afe Babalola University. Pre-conference workshops will hold at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.

 

The theme for this year’s conference is “GASTROINTESTINAL MALIGNANCIES IN AFRICA: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE” just as well as the various subthemes provides insight into what to expect during this conference. 

 

For the first time in history of SOGHIN, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has endorsed our program, to this end a whole day is dedicated for the ASGE postgraduate lecture series to be anchored by the ASGE sponsored international faculty and a renounced prof of therapeutic endoscopy from Chennai India

 

There will also be parallel sessions for nurses in order to add maximum value to their participation. The meeting promises to be great not only in its scientific contenet but in limitless opportunities for networking and collaboration.
