NURSE/MIDWIFE/PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE TUTORS PROGRAMME FEDERAL TRAINING CENTRE FOR TEACHERS OF HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY COLLEGE HOSPITAL, IBADAN 

2017/2018 ACADEMIC SESSION 

 

Application letters are invited from Ministries of Health, Teaching Hospitals, Nurses' Training Institutions and other Government Agencies who would like to sponsor suitably qualified candidates for admission in October 2017 for the above named programme to train as Nurse Educators, Midwife Educators, or Public Health Nurse Educators. Prospective self-sponsored candidates may also apply. 

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 

A. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS 

West African School Certificate/General Certificate of Education with at least passes at credit level in five (5) papers obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. These papers must include: English language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. 

 

B. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE 

In addition to (A) above, the candidates for: I. Nurse Tutors Course must be a Registered Nurse with RN Certificate of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NCMN). An additional qualification in at least  one of the following nursing specialty areas: Midwifery, Psychiatry, Orthopaedic, Peri operati ve and Ophthalmic Nursing is an added advantage. 

 

II. Midwife Tutors Course must be a Registered Midwife and possess RN and RM Certificates of the NM CN. 

 

III. Public Health Nurse Tutors Course must possess a Public Health Nurse certificate Registrable with the NMCN. 

 

C. In addition to appropriate professional qualifications, candidates must have at least two (2) years of post-registration experience in the intended area of specialty. 

 

D. Candidate will also be required to undertake an examination. 

 

METHOD OF APPLICATION 

Applicants should forward four (4) stamped self-addressed official envelopes and non-refundable application fee of Seven thousand, five hundred naira (N7,500.00) only payable into the Treasury Single Account of NURSE TUTORS' TRAINING, IBADAN. Payment can be made in any bank in Nigeria. The teller bearing NURSE TUTORS' TRANING, IBADAN would be changed to receipt in the School and forms can be obtained directly from:

Completed application forms should reach the above address not later than 31st May, 2017.

 

CONDITION FOR TRAINING 

Candidates or their sponsors will be responsible for Bench fees, Feeding, Books, Hostel Maintenance fees, Transportation, Clinical Experiences, Teaching Practice and other incidental expenses.
