This is to inform prospective candidates that application forms for undergraduate, postgraduate and pre-degree programmes into Transian University are now on sale. Tile mission of the Tansian University which was granted licence on May 2007 to operate as a private tlniversity is among others to pursue, continually, excellence, efficiency and effectiveness in leaching
knowledgeable and skillful students who on graduation would be relevant in the work place as well as resolve societal problems thereby impacting positively on national development.
Undergraduate Admission Courses available for candidates' admisSion and for which accreditations/approvals have been given by the National Universities Commission are as follows:
Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences
Department of Medical Laboratory Science
Department of Nursing sciences
Department Public Health
Admission Requirements
A. Undergraduate Degree Programmes All candidates applying for admission into any of the undergraduate programmes must:
(i) Possess the academic qualifications as specified by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board for subject of choice:
(ii) Achieve at least the approved minimum pass mark of 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations.
NOTE: Candidates who chose other Universities as either first or second choice are also eligible to apply.
B. Pre-Degree Programme·
Available Courses are: English Language,y Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. The goal of the University under the pre-degree programme is to provide access course to candidates, In order words, candidates under the programme would be given a course of education that would prepare students without the usual qualifications in order
that they can study at university.
The following are therefore qualified to apply for admission into the Pre-Degree Programme: - '
(I) Candidates with less than five credit level passes at the WASC/NECO/SSSC orequivalent;
(II) Candidates who have not achieved the approved pass mark in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
C) Post-graduate Admission -
Candidates applying for postgraduate admission should, possess the requisite qualifications for their intended course of study when they are submitting the completed forms to
the School of Postgraduate studies.
Degree of Master '(Academic Professional)
The following Shall qualify for the Master's admission: Graduates of the Tansian University or other recognized universities who have obtained the approved' degree of bachelor with at least second class honours of its equivalent, or candidates with university honours degrees and . appropriate postgraduate diploma of the Tansian University or other recognized University with at least a credit level pass (that is upper credit).
(a) Professional Diploma of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR);
(b) The Professional Diploma of the Business Education Examination Council (BEEC); or.
(c) CAM Foundation Diploma in Public Relations and Diploma in Mass Communication Studies (CAM-Communication and Marketing); or
(d) British Institute- of Public Relations (BIPR) Membership Diploma.
(e) Candidates whose degrees· are unclassified with average of 50 percent or above grade. such . candidates need not be subjected to qualifying tests.
iv) Candidates who hold qualifications other than the ones listed above, which are acceptable to the Board of the_ School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University may be considered,
Degree ofDoctor ofPhilosophy (Ph.D.)
.1) Graduates of the Tansian University or of other recognized Universities who have obtained the
- degree of Master appropriate for toe proposed areas of study with- a minimum of 3.50 grade_ point average on a 5-point scare or 3.00 on the old 4-point scales, provided that satisfactory
research work formed part. of the Master's" degree,
Candidates with the degree of professional master may qualify for admission provided that they satisfy the conditions in
(i) above.
iii) Candidates who hold qualifications other than the above acceptable to Senate of the University may be considered, Candidates from recognized Universities where grade point average is not given would be required to have average master's degree score of60% or above.
iv) Demonstrated evidence of completed academic research will be an advantage.

Transian University Account No. 1011732874 at any of the Zenith Bank Branches. Application forms are obtainable also from the following centres on presentation of original
evidence of such payment: . Tansian University. Oba Campus, Anambra State. 2, Pre-degree Programmes.
Application forms may be obtained from any of the centres below on presentation of original evidence of payment of six thousand naira (N6,OOO.OO) to Tansian University Account
No. 1011732874 at any of the Zenith Bank Branches. .
Post Graduate Programmes-
Prospective candidates for admission to postgraduate studies in the Tansian University should apply on the prescribed application form. Request for forms should be addressed to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, and should be accompanied by an application fee of twenty thousand naira (N20,OOO.OO) only payable to the Tansian University Account No. 1011732874 at any of the Zenith Bank Branches.
Candidates should supply clear and correct responses to the information elicited in the application form, Candidates, while returning the form, must enclose:
Two recent passport photograph of himself/herself.
A statement of not more than 180 words of the desired field of study. Photocopies of all certificates claimed including National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) discharge or
exemption certificate (for Nigerians only).
Closing Date:
All application forms not processed on-line should be retumed to the Registrar, Tansian University,Oba, Anamora State, not later than October 10, 2013 .. Date for Post UTME Screening
