Following the publication of the news concerning the assault on Nurses by a patients family and relatives at FMC Asaba, Delta State and the ultimatum of 72hrs to the hospital's management, reports reaching us here at Nursingworld states that the management of the hospital has put up measures to protect all healthcare workers by providing burglary proof in and around the buildings, they are also currently in search of the culprits who assaulted the Nurses, the hospital management has also increased the numbers of security personels in and around the hospital.

On injuries sustained by the Nurses who were attacked, our source reports that the male nurse  sustained a blunt force injury on his left leg which got swollen but the swell seems to be receeding at the moment.

For his colleague, our source said though she was not punched or hit she reported that she was pushed around and pulled, she was prevented from making any calls to anyone and was compelled to continue CPR on the deceased child until a senior colleague came to her rescue.

The source also said that the nurses and executives have given a final warning to the management of the hospital that if attacks like this happens again they would have no other choice than to down tools and might take legal actions.
