Veterinary Council of Nigeria 2017 Professional Continuing Education Seminar

As part of its statutory function, the Veterinary Council of Nigeria announces the 2017 Professional Continuing Education Seminar as follows:

A. Northern Centre: Thursday, 27'3/41 July, 2017 at Yola, Adamawa State

B. Southern Centre: Thursday, Dr August, 2017 at Akure, Ondo State

Time: 9:00 am

Theme of the Seminar: Sustainable Veterinary Control System for Livestock and Livestock Products in Nigeria.

Topics:

General Session:

a. Antimicrobiobial Resistance and Drug Abuse as an Impediment to Sustainable Veterinary Control System and Public Health by Prof. A. O. Anaga

b. Disease Reporting: A Professional, National and International Obligation by Dr. Gidado Muhammed

Veterinary Surgeons-Parallel Sessions:

i. Aquatic Veterinary Practice: Prospects and Challenges by Dr. Oludayo Ganiyu

ii. Survival of Private Veterinary Practice in an Economic Recession by Dr. Gani Enahoro

Veterinary Para-Professionals - Parallel Sessions;

i. The Role of Veterinary Para-Professionals in Disease Investigation by Prof. G. H. Sharubutu mni

Registration:

The registration fee is N15, 000.00 only per Veterinary Surgeon and N5, 000.00 per Veterinary Para-Professional. This covers Registration, Seminar materials, Certificate and Meal. Members are to make their accommodation arrangements.

Documentation and collection of materials at the venues will commence on the 26th July, 2017 (for the Northern Centre) and 9th August, 2017 (for the Southern Centre) and continues on the following day till the Opening Ceremony.

Note:

1. Certificate of attendance will only be given to members who participate to the end of the seminar and this will be collected in person.

2. Veterinary Para- Professionals who are yet to register with the Council are exempted from providing VCN Reg. No.

3. There will be No cash collection at the venue, However, there will be Point of Sale (POS) for Visa and Master debit cards.
