West African College of Nursing Felicitaions And Post BGM Update Information

Posted on: Thu 27-07-2017

Greetings from the West African College of Nursing Secretariat, Lagos, Nigeria. We want to thank God for a successful BGM and to appreciate the Nigeria Chapter Executives and indeed all Fellows in Nigeria for the wonderful outing.  To the new executive of the Chapter, we say welcome on board.  We pray for a successful and activity filled tenure.

The College wishes to use this medium to appeal to all Fellows to support the College so that together we can move our dear College forward.

You may recall that at the just concluded BGM it was decided that-

  1. $50, which is 50% share of the annual dues payable by every Fellow should  henceforth be paid directly into the WACN First Bank Account No: 2003465262 (US Dollar Account) . Also $20 Journal Sustenance fee should be paid with the annual dues.

You are encouraged to scan your teller(s) to the College email ([email protected]), you should also scan your completed update form if you have not done so.

From the 3rd quarter of this year, names of bonafide Fellows in good financial standing will be published on the College website at www.wacn-online.com and also at the College Secretariat notice board at No. 6, Taylor Drive, Yaba –Lagos.

  1. The College Mandatory Update programme will be held in the last week of November 2017 at the College Secretariat. Fellows are advised to pay early to secure a place. Interested Fellows should pay their N30,000 on or before October 31st to the College First Bank Plc Account No: 2003831052

The maximum number of participants for each Update session is 60.

Note that the Secretariat has accepted to decentralize the Update. The 2 other centres are the North and South East/South South. A notice of 2 months should be given by any interested zone to the Secretariat; this will ensure that there is no clash with other College programmes.

Remember that for any Fellow to retain his/her membership, the Fellow must be financially up to date and must attend the College Update programme.

From now, all future appointments, elections and any adhoc assignment by the College will be dependent on the above pre-conditions.

  1. All the WACN workshops in Nigeria now attract 3 Credit Units as approved by Nursing and

      Midwifery Council of Nigeria

Always check the College website for the WACN Calendar of Events and all available courses.

You can also call the Secretariat line on 08081245510 from 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Thank you all for your anticipated understanding and cooperation.

Signed
