Zonal Workshoop on Implementation of the Revised General Nursing, Midwifery and Post Basic Nursing curricula

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has revised the curricula for the education of general nurses. midwives and post basic clinical nursing specialists in Nigeria. 
 
In order to ensure effective and efficient implementation of these curricula, the Council is organizing zonal workshops. 
 
The theme of the workshop is “Strengthening Nursing and Midwifery  Education for Quality Healthcare Delivery". 
 
The aim is to familiarize nurse/midwife educators with the revised curricula, and to identify strategies for effective and uniform implementation in educational institutions. The target population are nurse and midwife educators who leach in schools of nursing, midwifery, departments of nursing in Nigeria universities and post basic nursing programmes. 
 
For the North East, North Central and North West Geopolitical Zones excluding Kwara, Nasarawa, Benue and Kogi States the workshop will hold in Sokoto, Sokoto State as follows: 
 
Arrival: - 4th December, 2017 
Workshop: - 7th December, 2017 
Departure: - 8th December, 2017 
Venue: - Sokoto Guest Inn, No. 1 Kalamani Road, Sokoto State 
 
In view of the above, you are expected to nominate only two (2) educators each from departments of Nursing, Schools of Nursing, Midwifery and Post-Basic Nursing programmes to participate in the workshop. 
 
The presentations, discussions and decisions reached at the workshop are to be stepped down by each institution's representatives on return. for the benefit of the entire academic staff of their institution. 
 
The workshop fee is Ten Thousand Naira (#10,000.00) only for each participant, payable into Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria account in any bank of your choice via Remita. The fee covers lea/snacks, lunch, workshop materials and certificate of attendance. 
 
Please note that participants from other Zones or States not specified herein will not be registered for the workshop.
