Ten states reported and the Federal Capital Territory reported 533 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to figures released on Saturday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The agency did not report any new COVID-19 related death. The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Saturday.
Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 428 cases followed by FCT – 45, Rivers – 33, Edo – 9, Ogun – 8, Oyo – 3, Delta – 2, Kaduna – 2, Gombe – 1, Jigawa – 1 and Kano 1.
The health agency said that the 533 new cases of COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 216,451. It, however, noted that 207,661 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With no additional COVID-19 related death reported, the death toll from the virus stands at 2,981, the NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
