College of Nursing and Midwifery Gombe State Vacancies for the Posts of Provost and Registrar

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant posts of the Provost and Registrar of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Gombe. 

1. PROVOST 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Provost is the Chief Executive and Academic officer of the College. He/She is the Chief Disciplinarian and ex-officio member of the Governing Council. The Provost shall attend all statutory committee meeting either as Chairman or member as the case may be. 

QUALIFICATION AND QUALITIES 

To be eligible for appointment as PROVOST of the College, candidate must: 

  1. Have a good honour Degree in Nursing obtained from a recognized University and Master degree (in line with Guidelines for implementation of ND/HND Nursing programme in Nigeria, May 2017), with not less than Twelve (12) years teaching experience. 
  2. Be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as a Nurse Educator with valid practicing license. 
  3. Possess membership of at least one professional body.
  4. Be a person with outstanding moral character, probity and integrity 
  5. Be Competent to advise the council on all matters affecting the College. 
  6. Show evidence of outstanding achievement in Institutional management. 
  7. Show evidence of community service and experience. 
  8. Be physically, emotionally and mentally stable with proven evidence in the management of human and material resources. 
  9. Have satisfactory proficiency in ICT. 

2. REGISTRAR 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Registrar shall be responsible for the day to day administration of the College, Secretary to the Governing Council, the College Academic Board and Council Standing committees. 

QUALIFICATION AND QUALITIES 

To be eligible for appointment as REGISTRAR of the College, applicant must: 

  1. Have a good honour degree obtained from a recognized University with not less than ten (10) years cognate experience in administration. 
  2. Have served for not less than five (5) years in an Institution of Higher learning. 
  3. Not below the rank of Deputy Director or Deputy Registrar. 
  4. Possess membership of at least one professional body. 
  5. Be a person with outstanding moral character, probity and integrity.  
  6. Be physically, emotionally and mentally stable with proven evidence in the management of human and material resources. 
  7. Have satisfactory proficiency in ICT that can assist in the efficient performance of his or her duties.

TENURE OF OFFICE AND CONDITION OF SERVICE 

  • The Provost and Registrar shall hold office for a period of four (4) years in the first instance and may be eligible for re-appointment for another Four (4) years and no more. 
  • Conditions of service are similar to those applicable in the state owned Tertiary Institutions.
