About the Bursary Award Programme
The Bursary Department of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board is dedicated to providing financial assistance to students from Delta State who are in need. Our bursary programs aim to alleviate the financial burdens on students and their families, enabling them to focus on their studies and achieve their academic goals.
Key Functions
- Financial Assistance: Administering bursary programs to support students who demonstrate financial need.
- Eligibility Screening: Ensuring that only eligible and deserving students receive bursaries through a transparent and rigorous selection process.
- Disbursement of Funds: Efficiently managing and disbursing bursary funds directly to students' bank accounts to cover tuition fees and other educational expenses.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking the academic progress of bursary recipients to ensure continued eligibility and optimal use of resources.
- Awareness and Outreach: Raising awareness about available bursary opportunities and guiding students through the application process.
Eligibility Criteria
- Delta State Origin: Applicants must be of Delta State origin.
- National Identification Number (NIN): Must possess a valid NIN.
- Enrollment in Tertiary Institutions: Must be registered full-time students in government-approved private and public tertiary institutions. (PGD, Masters, and PhD students are NOT eligible.)
- Academic Performance: Must have a CGPA of 2.20 and above in the previous academic year’s examination.
- Year of Study: Must be in their second year (200 level and above) in universities, NDII and HND in polytechnics/monotechnics, and NCE II-III in colleges of education.
- Bank Account: Must have an account with a CBN-approved commercial bank.
