Federal Medical Centre Nguru Opens Application for Director of Administration Position

The Management of the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Director of Administration.

Qualification and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, or Hospital/Health Services Management from an accredited institution. Applicants must have not less than twenty (20) years of post-qualification cognate experience in the Administrative cadre within a government establishment and must be a Directorate-level officer in a government establishment.

Possession of a Master’s degree or other relevant higher qualifications will be an added advantage. Being a Fellow or Associate of the Institute of Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN) or holding any other relevant professional certification is also an added advantage. Candidates must be ICT compliant, and prior working experience in a hospital setting will be an added advantage. All relevant supporting documents must be attached to the application.

Responsibilities

The Director of Administration shall be responsible to the Chief Medical Director for the day-to-day general administrative matters of the Hospital. He or she shall serve as the Chief Administrative Adviser to the Chief Medical Director and Secretary to the Board of Management.

Additional responsibilities include taking charge of the Department responsible for administration, participating in the formulation, execution, and review of policies as directed by the Chief Medical Director, coordinating the activities of Support Departments in the Hospital, conducting Board correspondence, maintaining hospital records, and performing other duties as may be assigned by the Board or the Chief Medical Director from time to time.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service Rules applicable to this category of staff.

Tenure

The Director of Administration shall hold office effective from the date of appointment, inclusive of any period previously served as a Director in any other organization within the Public Service, provided the officer does not attain the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years or thirty-five (35) years of service, whichever comes first, and subject to the terms and conditions stated in the letter of appointment.

Interested candidates are required to submit fifteen (15) copies of their application, accompanied by photocopies of their credentials and a Curriculum Vitae detailing the following information:

Full name, place and date of birth, home address, contact address, nationality, marital status, institutions attended with dates, working experience, extra-curricular activities, and names and addresses of three referees.

Applications and attachments should be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked “Application for Post of Director of Administration” at the top left-hand corner and addressed to:

The Curriculum Vitae must include three referees, one of whom must be at Directorate level. Recommendation letters from the referees should be sent directly to the above address by the referees.
