The Guild of Water Purifiers and Researchers of Nigeria has said the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control has displayed high level of professionalism in the way it deals with matters that affect the public.
The group, in a communiqué signed by its President, Bassey Christopher; and Secretary, Anrinle Ahmed, noted that the Director-General of NAFDAC, Mojisola Adeyeye, had the wellbeing of Nigerians at heart.
According to the communiqué, the group alleged being sidelined in a meeting conveyed by NAFDAC, adding that Adeyeye subsequently called another meeting between the group and the top management of NAFDAC.
The communiqué read in part, “After GOWPARN’s complaint was reported to the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, she arranged for another meeting between the group and the top management of NAFDAC, presided over by one of the senior Director in NAFDAC, Sheriff Olagunju, who stood in for the DG, NAFDAC.
“This display of maturity to us, as a body, no doubt portrays proficiency, high level of professionalism and diligence on the part of NAFDAC. This is indeed worthy of emulation.”
The group further declared its support for the agency to assist in researching the source of water in Nigeria and serve as a bank for valuable information on water issues.
