In pursuance of our statutory mandate as regulator of the health Insurance ecosystem in Nigeria, 11w National Health Insurance Scheme (MIN), by a newspaper advertorial on December  04, 2019, requested Healthcare Facilities (Ha's) to submit to the Scheme, evidence of backlog, Of payments owed to them by the Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs).

In its efforts at repositioning the Scheme and ramming the implementation of Health Insurance in Nigeria, Management has resolved that all outstanding indebtedness between HMOs and the HCFs and issues related thereto) must be settled.

Accordingly, a physical reconciliation to resolve issues of payment of claims submitted by healthcare facilities to the HMOs is slated to hold as follows:

Date: Monday, June 15, 2020 to Wednesday, July 15, 2920

Venue: NHIS State Offices nationwide

Meanwhile, all attendants of this exercise will be expected to ensure full compliance with COVID-19 safety recommendations, such as wearing of face masks, adherence to social distancing and full observance of personal hygiene.

To further ensure the safety of attendants, NHIS will put in place a timetable for the exercise, to avoid congestion at any point in the event.
