Traditional herbal medicines manufacturers have urged the Federal Government to embark on mass production and wide spread use of herbal drugs registered by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
They said this will ensure effective control of common ailments.
A popular herbal drug manufacturer, Alhaji Suleiman Lawal, told reporters in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, that many of the herbal manufacturers lack the financial capacity to go into mass production after the agency had given approval for their herbal medicine.
Lawal said herbal medicine had proved efficacious in the treatment of ailments like COVID-19, pile, diabetes, among others.
