Job Title: Intern Pharmacist

Job Summary
- As an Intern Pharmacist, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical care.
- You will assist in dispensing medications, counseling patients, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations.
- This internship provides practical training to develop your clinical and operational pharmacy skills.
Responsibilities
Dispensing and Patient Care:
- Assist in preparing, dispensing, and labeling medications.
- Provide medication counseling under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Ensure accurate prescription processing and verify patient information.
- Educate patients on proper medication use, side effects, and storage.
Inventory and Supply Management:
- Assist in managing stock levels and checking for expired medications.
- Help in ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in keeping detailed records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and controlled substances.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of pharmaceuticals.
Customer Service and Communication:
- Provide friendly and professional service to patients and healthcare providers.
- Address customer inquiries and refer complex cases to the pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy team in daily operations and workflow.
Learning and Professional Development:
- Participate in training sessions and pharmacy-related educational activities.
- Stay updated on new medications, treatments, and industry trends.
- Observe and assist in clinical decision-making under supervision.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology or Pharmacy (BPharm).
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail, pharmaceutical, health care or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
Skills and Competence:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy operations.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software is a plus.
