Kogi State Health Insurance Agency (KGSHIA), under the Vulnerable Group Health Insurance Programme, has enrolled 31,491 persons across the 21 local councils of the state.
Executive Secretary of KGSHIA, Dr. Aledare Adekunle, made this known during a media parley, yesterday, in Lokoja. According to him, 120 pregnant women also enrolled under the Senator Smart Adeyemi Health Insurance Programme.
He noted that the bill establishing the agency was passed in November 18, 2018 and that Governor Yahaya Bello signed it into law on April 24, 2019.
Adekunle stressed that, in the last one year and five months, the agency had been able to develop health programmes to rapidly scale up the health insurance coverage of Kogi residents.
