Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

The role holder is expected to perform laboratory tests of moderate and high complexity and prepare records of test results. Maintain instruments, equipment, and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and calibrate test instruments and equipment to assure the accuracy of tests.
• Collection of blood, tissue, and other specimens.
• Prepare solutions or reagents to be combined with specimens.
• Perform laboratory tests of moderate and high complexity as defined in laboratory procedures manual.
• Clean instruments and equipment as needed prior to and following each test.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs to instruments and equipment.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and notify appropriate personnel.

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
• 0 - 3 years of current experience in a clinical laboratory or in a related field required.
• Quality service management
• Knowledge of laboratory
• Measurement terminology
• Knowledge of storage of reagents and chemicals within the laboratory
• Laboratory technology / Equipment management
• Weekend work required.
