Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Alimosho, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

 

Description  

• Performs laboratory tests and procedures, analyzes samples (blood, tissue, etc.) to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment, and maintains a safe and organized lab environment.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of a Medical Laboratory Technician:

• Performing Laboratory Tests: MLTs conduct various tests, including microscopic, bacteriological, hematological, immunologic, and chemical analyses on samples.
• Sample Collection and Processing: They collect, prepare, and store specimens, ensuring proper handling and integrity.
• Equipment Operation and Maintenance: MLTs operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, cell counters, and other instruments.
• Data Recording and Reporting: They accurately record test results and forward them to physicians, contributing to patient care.
• Quality Control: MLTs ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results by performing quality control checks and maintaining lab standards.
• Safety and Organization: They maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
• Patient Interaction: MLTs may explain test procedures to patients and answer their questions.
• Collaboration: They collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and physicians, to ensure effective patient care.
• Reagent Preparation: MLTs prepare lab reagents and standard solutions for use in tests.

 

Requirements

• The candidates should possess an OND qualification with 2 - 10 years work experience.

 

Salary

• N80,000 - N120,000 monthly.
