We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Port-Harcourt, Rivers

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Type: Permanent

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare solutions, including butter solutions, fluids, and Glemsa's Leishman stains, while also preserving parasites and arthropod vectors.
  • Ensure the timely collection and delivery of samples and results, utilising a motorbike when necessary.
  • Examine and analyse patient specimens to provide critical information required for accurate diagnosis.
  • Maintain rigorous standards for sample labelling and identification.
  • Report to the Lead Medical Technician to ensure an efficient process for dispatching and collecting results and samples.
  • Assist the Lead Medical Laboratory Technician in the conduct of blood transfusions and execute other assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain precise delivery documentation to facilitate proper tracking.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, ensuring professional communication with both the Medical Laboratory Scientist and the Marketing team.
  • Support the management of laboratory supplies and secure the motorbike on company premises at the conclusion of each workday.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A certificate from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) at the Technician Cadre, obtained from an accredited School of Health Technology.
  • A valid, current practising license issued by MLSCN is mandatory, along with a minimum of 3 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Candidates must possess essential soft skills, such as effective communication, adaptability, and emotional intelligence, which significantly influence interpersonal interactions and work performance.
  • Must be located in Port Harcourt.

Salary

N70,000 - N120,000 monthly. (depending on experience and skills).
