The Medical Women Association of Nigeria has expressed its determination and commitment to support women related organisations in order to enhance women empowerment and growth.

The President of the association in Lagos, Dr Ibironke Sodeinde, said this when it partnered Bright Hope for Widows Initiative as part of activities marking the International Women Day.

The MWAN President urged women not to quit but to challenge any problem that faces them. Sodeinde challenged the widows to remain steadfast despite their experiences.

She counselled the women not to engage in anything that would threaten their well-being and to remain health conscious at all times. “Women must celebrate themselves beyond their challenge which is key to having fulfilment in life,” she said.

The president of the NGO, Dr. Foluke Omosehin, said the organisation was formed to bring succour to widows and build in them a strong hope to live. The MWAN delegation donated food items to the NGO.
