We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Microbiologist

Location: Idanre, Ondo

Department: Quality Control

Reports To: Quality Control Manager

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a dedicated Microbiologist to join our team at Johnvent Foods.
  • The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all food products meet the highest microbiological standards, ensuring safety and compliance with health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Microbial Testing:

  • Conduct microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of microbiological test results and trends.

Quality Control:

  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to implement and enforce food safety standards.
  • Perform routine testing for pathogens, spoilage organisms, and allergens in products and raw materials.
  • Hygiene and Sanitation:
  • Oversee and perform regular environmental monitoring of the production areas to ensure compliance with sanitation and hygiene protocols.
  • Conduct microbiological analysis of water, air, and surfaces in the manufacturing facility to prevent contamination.

Research and Development:

  • Support product development and innovation by conducting microbiological research to improve food preservation techniques, shelf life, and safety.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to troubleshoot microbiological issues and propose corrective actions.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that all microbiological activities adhere to local and international food safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and submit reports on microbiological findings to regulatory bodies when required.

Requirements

  • Education: HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a microbiology or food safety role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, laboratory equipment, and food safety regulations. Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.
  • Location: Must be willing to work in Idanre, Ondo State.
