The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives Edo state chapter has berated the Edo Broadcasting Services for aiding and abating quackery. This followed the viral video of a quack (OSIMEN FAVORITE) who was interviewed on their network.

In a memo addressed to the Managing Director, Edo Broadcasting Services Aduwawa Benin City titled: AIDING AND ABETTING QUACKERY, UNHOLY AND UNPROFESSIONAL ALLIANCE WITH AN IMPOSTOR THROUGH MEDIA INTERVIEW. RE: OSIMEN FAVORITE.

The memo reads:

The attention of the State Administrative Council of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Edo State Council has been drawn to the media interview your Broadcasting Station granted to one Osimen Favorite who audaciously and erroneously made unprintable claims about the etiology and management of hypertension, one of the non-communicable diseases that mostly threatens people's health and quality of life.

As a professional Association, we have investigated her dossier and discovered that she is not a health professional but a charlatan who has had a long interaction and relationship with your Station as a pseudo-health information provider which we were oblivious of for a long time.

We demand a retraction of that broadcast and an apology from her to the public via your Station for the grossly misleading information. Your Station should not be considered that, because of filthy lucre is aiding and abetting quackery through an unprofessional and unholy alliance with an imposter

unfeigned political will to stamp off quackery in all sectors in the state especially in the health industry. We have our members spread all over the federal, state, local government areas and private health facilities in the state, many of them have their specialization in various health fields. We advise that it will be safe for you to involve them for any public health enlightenment and should you be in any doubt consult the professional body - National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives for the authentication of such identity

Thanks for the expected affirmative response to unravel our claim and forestall future embarrassment of such magnitude in the health sector
