The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday reported 65 new COVID-19 cases in six states and the Federal Capital Territory. The agency did not report any additional COVID-19 related death.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Facebook page. According to the data from the agency, Lagos reported 19 cases while Kano recorded 16 cases followed by Rivers – 12, FCT – 11, Kaduna – 4, Niger – 2, Delta – 1.
The reported 65 new infections have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 253,405 while 229,676 people have recovered and have been discharged. With no additional COVID-19 related deaths recorded for the day, the death toll from the virus still stands at 3,136.
The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
