Five states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 23 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to figures released on Saturday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The agency did not report any additional No COVID-19 related death. The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Saturday. Plateau recorded the 9 cases of infection followed by FCT -6, Bauchi – 3, Sokoto – 3, Kaduna -1, and Kano – 1.
The health agency said the 23 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 213,487. However, 206,301 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With no COVID-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from the virus remains 2,973, NCDC said. It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
