The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday reported 42 new COVID-19 cases from four states and the Federal Capital Territory. The agency did not report any additional COVID-19 related death.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Thursday. According to data from the agency, Lagos recorded 25 cases, followed by the FCT – 13, Kaduna – 2, Kano – 1, and Oyo – 1.
The 42 new infections reported have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 254,394 while 230,861 people have recovered and have been discharged. According to the NCDC, a total of 4,317,621 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in the country.
With no COVID-19 related deaths recorded for the day, the death toll from the virus still stands at 3,142. The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
