In line with its mission statement aimed at creating a world class hospital where every sick that enters their facility receive complete restoration of health, PONYX Hospitals Limited has completed a 2 day intensive training of its medical personnels on the American Heart Association Basic and Advanced Life Cardiovascular Life Support Course
The course which held at the hospital conference hall located at plot 26 presidential estate GRA Phase 111 in Portharcourt Rivers state had in attendance Ambulance drivers, Nurses and Doctors. The course content covered skills needed to manage BLS and ACLS cases with practical sessions on AED use, CPR, Manual Defibrillation, Pacing, Synchronized Cardioversion, Airway management and Intra Osseous Cannulation etc
Speaking at the end of the program, the Director of Nursing services expressed delight at the opportunity to participate in the training organized by Medicalworld Nigeria. She noted that the training was timely and apt considering the nature of their job. She added that 'nurses spend significant time alongside patients and are often the first to attend at in-hospital cardiovascular arrests; and as such are the first line resonse to providing CPR, playing a vital role in all patient resuscitation efforts.
