Job Summary
- The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counselling, and ensuring regulatory compliance within a pharmacy setting.
- Additionally, they will occasionally oversee pharmacy operations and lead a team of technicians.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations are essential.
- The ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment is crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense Medications:
- Review and verify prescription accuracy.
- Prepare and dispense medications following legal guidelines.
- Ensure proper labelling and packaging of medications.
Ensure Compliance:
- Adhere to relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and medications.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels effectively.
Patient Counselling:
- Provide counselling and education on medications.
- Address patient concerns and inquiries.
- Promote adherence to prescribed medication regimens.
Manage Pharmacy Operations:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians.
- Schedule staff shifts for optimal coverage.
Stay Current With Industry Trends:
- Continuously update knowledge of pharmaceutical advancements.
- Attend professional development programs.
- Stay informed about new medications and regulatory changes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid pharmacist license in Nigeria.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a pharmacist in a community pharmacy or clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with pharmacy software systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 Monthly.
