Job title: Pharmacy Technician

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for checking and evaluating written prescriptions, as well as recording and verifying patient information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations.

Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of a pharmacist to dispense prescription and over the counter medication to customers or health professionals.

Job Description

• Assemble medicines for prescriptions and provide information about medication.

• Work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

• Read and interpret physician's medication orders

• Aid in filling, processing, and dispensing medications

• Triage requests and prioritize them

• Check for expiration dates on medications on a regular basis.

• Re-package and label medications

• Adhere to safety practices in order to ensure quality care for patients

• Help maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices

Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Current pharmacy technician registration / certification

• Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software applications used by pharmacies such as Meditech or Mediware.

Reporting Line:

• Admin: Hub Manager

• Medical: Lead pharmacist/Medical Lead

Salary: N50,000 - N70,000
